"Sometimes I love to wear a long dress... it is so romantic!"

Sophisticated, with a retro kind of charm, Dorothea had all she needed to become a model already in early school years. Actually it was of her teachers who suggested her to try modeling, while she was totally unaware and even surprised by such suggestion. But her teacher was right: when Dorothea took part in the Swedish edition of Elite Model Look in her hometown, Stockholm, she won the contest and started her new, unpredicted life.

In February 2009, at 18, she made her big debut opening Sportmax’ show, walking the runway also for Sportmax, sfilando poi per Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, Calvin Klein, Missoni, Prada, BCBG Max Azria, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu. An intense season that made her popular and was immediately followed by shootings for Vogue and W.

If there is one thing we may underline, apart from her beauty, not at all conventional, is that the girl has style. Her approach to fashion was casual but actually it’s as if it was written in the stars. She has an eye for clothes and the designers who have worked with her even declared she has a sartorial outlook. Besides, she is a designer herself, although budding, since she makes her own clothes.

“I like updating old clothes I grow tired of, and experiment with their potential. Besides, I have nothing to lose. And the clothes stay with me, like a keepsake.”

Unlike many other fellow models that, off the catwalk, look characterless and tend to dress in a simple and understated way, she does her best to put her personality into her outfits. She likes, obviously, to mix and she does by adding her special touch. A bit of her favorite designers, something cheap&chic like Topshop or Zara pieces and, finally, a vintage touch.

In the last season she has done shows for, among others, Rodarte and Phillip Lim, and posed for several shootings, including a romantic-looking feature for magazine Love.

She also runs a blog, Displaced Bones, full of backstage images and all the inspirations she gets when she attend photography exhibitions or rock gigs.

She is not one of those girls who claim to eat a lot and stay slim, on the contrary: “I eat lots of fruits and organic food. I always start my day with some Chai Tea and a red fruit shake. I don’t have time for the gym but I often take long walks close to nature.”

She loves leggings, and wears them whenever she can, with mini-dresses or printed t-shirts, and feels at ease both with very feminine and chic looks, and with biker boots and jackets. Besides leggings, her favorite pieces are blazers (maxi, mini, colored), combat boots and tulle dresses.

She changes her hair very often, shifting from ladylike hairpins to Afro-style backcombed hair, braids and upper-class buns.

As for fragrances, she likes Chloé, while on her face she uses only all-natural products.

For the 2011 season she is the face of emerging Swedish brand Filippa K.
